Colombia – Medellin – Flower festival

Flower Festival in Medellin. Day 2 Laerke and Sara had decided on the Medellin flower festival. They got us to a village in the mountains for a local celebration before they would go to the big festival day in Medellin.
They wall with flowers on their back, that are carryed on We took a public bus back.

A friend of Ella joined us, which we all enjoyed.

The Botanical garden had a special exhibition of orchids for the flower festival. Lots of other flowers in overwhelming decorations.

Even the Medellín police went around town with a decorated car followed by bicycles with flowers on. Such a display of friendliness and even more so in a town that has had the highest murder rate per capita in the world and was torn by narko cartels, drug Lords and their war against the police.
