Ella having traveled in 100/193 countries & 102/195 at 17 years old.
Resembles her sister who was the youngest Danish woman to travel to 100 countries when she did it, and now there are 3 Danish women at this age who are fairly equally traveled. Ella, Frida and Ava.
Ava the youngest when she reached 100, Frida being the youngest, and Ella second. The two even went to school together, and I know the parents of all and share the travel bug.
Ella also insisted on independence and choosing her own way. Meaning taking a year 2024-25 in Montreal – that’s French speaking Quebec in Canada. Following school in French and learning it well.
Ella also resembles children of diplomats. She spent 4 years in Stockholm. Attending international school in English and before that attending Swedish kindergarten in Swedish. When in 2014 I told her we were moving and she would change school, her first question was: what language do they speak in the new school? She was really relieved that it was Danish.
She has now lived and studied 5 years abroad during her 17 years, and traveled to 100 countries on top of that. That’s way more international than I was at the time as my moving around and changing school was within Denmark.
Number 100/193 turned out to be
Guinea Buisseau
Number 100/195
Lithuania
Yes, she would have been the youngest, if she had not stayed in Canada for a year. Yes, the exchange was worth it. She learned so much, developed personally and now speaks French as well.
