Harry Mitsidis – the founder of the travel community NomadMania.
Some people create something that’s bigger than themselves. My friend Harry Mitsidis is one of them, and we just to celebrate him as he is retirering from NomadMania.
Characteristically for him, he got retirement to be about freedom. ‘Freedom to do what I want, when I want, where I want.’
Totally as Harry, we were 80 people gathered, 64 /68 of us have visited every country in the world. So precious for all of us to be together as this is only 440 verified in the world ever, and it’s good to feel this common understanding.
Bringing us to borderlands we have not been in the eye of geopolitics now.
Being the entrepreneur and owner leader creating the community and travel tech that unites us and inspires our exploration beyond the ordinary and obvious.
It’s a joy and honor to have headed the executive committee for 4 years now. I could have filled the 20 photos just with online meetings.
For you to speak on dark tourism at the travel cafe that so close to my heart as well.
Chosing photos for this meant starting with a dark tourism round trip of Armenia along the borders and latest then Nachivan, Garabakh and Baku in Azerbaijan. In between with your parents in Athens, with Cedric in your home outside London, in my home in Copenhagen, on Anholt and Læsø Dare regions in Denmark, in Fergana / Uzbekistan with enclaves, in Bocos del Toros in Panama, at the ETF in Bangkok, in Bratislava/ Slovakia, Märket Between Sweden and Åland Islands, and most importantly in so many ways in Lviv in Ukraine for our NomadMania Awards.
A country whose people and destiny is close to both our hearts.
I look forward to follow your journey as it unfolds in anything but linear fashion. Let’s make the most of it as we always do with out time and lives.
