Exchanging stories – Brandbjerg højskole
Trading stories. Each time I give a public talk, I bring stories back. Tom got reprimanded by the Danish Ministry of Defence in the 90s for being flown to Rønne airport in Bornholm by a US military helicopter … he was lods / helping huge vessels navigate Danish internal waters. Sailing with an American hangar ship from Skagen to Bornholm, they just picked him up and dropped him off again by helicopter. (Im soo envious) Only Danish armed forces have been at Bornholm since WW2 as the Russians have insisted on it being so after the liberated the Island from German occupation. So ethnic that has provoked me and has had my interest always as I lived for four years in Bornholm as 1-5 years old while my dad was there in uniform. Russians themselves did not respect the rule. So I love Toms story. And I love the fact that I got to meet Tom og his wife Gurli from Frederikshavn, who has traveled in 140 countries Long before social media or NomadMania exited, and now they keep wishing to join me. One of the others had been in the telegraf troops and knew all about the radios and now tried to keep up with drones. My lunch with them became a little longer than planned, while trading stories. After a morning of singing from Højskolesangbogen and speaking … and getting up at 5am to drive to Jelling for this.
