Speaking on the journey to and through North Korea in april 2025
A full house joined me to North Korea.
I chose to let others join that week in North Korea last year with the Pyongyang maraton, all the other experiences there, and the attempts to get into the country leading up to succeeding.
Incl. the first Dane to travel to eventyr country, and the next woman living in DK likely to make it (she will be one of the first two Polish women). They came out of interest and support and I’m so grateful for that. Competitive travel is a thing … They are such good, curious and open minded people with strong values and lots of knowledge.
Moments of being scared:
- would I get to enter?
- getting on the plane
- getting of the plane
- having my temperature tested at entrance
- my daughter being held back for an hour (!) as her temperature was higher than 37,0
- may daughter having her book from CBS on capitalism controlled
- when a man in a suit came directly towards me, looking menin the eyes and saying my name (I thought I was being arrested) untill realising he was the contact of Swedish travel club Club100
- having to run
- rebuilding my life afterwards
A little more than my usual micro courage training!
The Danish Travel Café, Café Globen, is the only travel cafe in Denmark and a passion volunteer project that is close to my heart and where I have been part of the board for more years that I care to remember, where I book speakers and speak myself. So that this many turned up meant a lot. Thank you!
